چکیده

The objective of the present study was to characterize changes in growth, concentrations of steroids in follicular fluid (FF) and gonadot ropin receptors of individual antral follicles after spontaneous luteolysis in heifers and to reexamine our hormonal method of classifying healthy and atretic follicles. Groups of heifers were ovariectomized (OVX) before regression of corpora lutea on d 17, 18 and 19 of an estrous cycle and after regression of corpora lutea at t ime periods before, during and after preovulatory gonadotropin surges. Each follicle 96 mm in diameter was examined for concentrat ion of progesterone, androstenedione, testosterone and estradiol-17fl in FF and capacities of granulosal and thecal cells to specifically bind ~2SI-bovine follicle stimulating hormone (bFSH) or 12Si.human chorionic gonadotropin

Insulin-like growth factor binding proteins in granulosa and thecal cells from bovine ovarian follicles at different stages of development.

Because IGFBP inhibit IGF-stimulated cellular proliferation and differentiation, it is hypothesized that variations among IGFBP in individual follicles might contribute to the regulation of recruitment, selection, dominance, and turnover of ovarian follicles. Sources of IGFBP in fluid of bovine follicles are not well established; thus, objectives of this study were to determine levels of IGFBP ...

Lack of between-follicle interactions in the sheep ovary.

Follicular growth over 2 mm in diameter is mainly regulated by gonadotrophins (FSH and LH). However, it is possible that between-follicle interactions may be involved in ensuring ovulation of a specific number of follicles. The present study tested specific hypotheses regarding: (1) a stimulatory role of atretic follicles on differentiation of follicles of the next wave; (2) a stimulatory role ...

The antral follicle: a microenvironment for oocyte differentiation.

Mammalian reproduction hinges upon the timely ovulation of a fully differentiated oocyte. This event is the culmination of a complex and dynamic developmental relationship between the oocyte and the antral follicle housing it; the antral follicle constitutes a specialized microenvironment or niche, uniquely suited to the needs of the oocyte as it approaches ovulation. During this time, the oocy...

Bidirectional communication between oocytes and ovarian follicular somatic cells is required for meiotic arrest of mammalian oocytes.

Coordinated regulation of oocyte and ovarian follicular development is essential for fertility. In particular, the progression of meiosis, a germ cell-specific cell division that reduces the number of chromosomes from diploid to haploid, must be arrested until just before ovulation. Follicular somatic cells are well-known to impose this arrest, which is essential for oocyte-follicle development...

میکروRNAهای گردشی، بیومارکرهای ارزشمند در مایعات بیولوژیک بدن

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are severely protected sequences and single stranded structures approximately 18 to 25 nucleotides in length. The crucial role of miRNAs has been previously proved in the regulation of the gene expression in post transcriptional modification events of messenger RNA. The precise mechanism by which miRNAs modulate translational repression of mRNAs is not fully determined. Howev...
